Wetwork's Cardback for "Matt The Radar Technician" One-Off Custom

Customizer Wetworks finishes up his Matt ("The Radar Technician") one-off personal custom with blister cardbacks! Alas this is currently not for sale but to be kept in his own personal collection!

If you are still in the dark as to "who" "Matt" is = he is the persona taken on my Adam Driver AKA "Kylo Ren" in the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as seen in an episode of Saturday Night "Live" parodying the reality show "Undercover Boss"! You'd do well to view the video here :)

A photo posted by Sean Viloria (@seanviloria) on

Sean Viloria shares with us images of a couple of custom works which he also added; "I was able to get in between my commissioned artwork. These are both available and interested folks can contact me as always via e-mail at sean.viloria@gmail.com." - Meanwhile, let's have a look at these Star Wars-themed pieces, shall we?

MAZ KANATA: "Maz Kanata is based on the amazing new character from Star Wars: The Force Awakens and was made from a blank 7" Kidrobot Munny with a Kidrobot "goggle" accessory that I had been saving for just such a project. Sculpting was all done with Super Sculpey and I finished with acrylic paints and ink with a Krylon matte finishing spray. Maz is 1 of 1 and available now."

OLMEC TROOPER HEAD: "Found in the jungles of South America and carved out of ancient stone by a lost civilization. This was made from a blank 6" Stormtrooper head with added sculpey before being texturized to look like stone, painted with many layers of acrylic paints and sealed with Krylon matte finishing spray. This is also 1 of 1 and available now"

Liontrooper Prints & AngPow from Nicholas Quah

Remember Nicholas Quah's Liontrooper graphic I featured not too long ago? Now this mash-up of A Lion Dance Head and a Storm Trooper helmet is available as a PRINT!

Three options to be had: Liontrooper A4 Print @ RM18, Liontrooper A4 Print + Frame @ RM38, and a handmade Liontrooper Big Angpow (Size: 23cm x 16cm) priced at RM28 each. Folks interested are to contact Nicholas via DM on his Facebook page. Have a Star Wars-licious Chinese New Year Ahead, folks!

WHAT-ARE "ANGPAOS" / 紅包: "In Chinese and other Asian societies, a red envelope, red packet, lai see or hongbao is a monetary gift which is given during holidays or special occasions such as weddings, graduation or the birth of a baby. Outside of China, similar customs exist across parts of South East Asia and many other countries with a sizable ethnic Chinese population." (Wiki)

I am truly loving this animated tale of Kylo Ren fighting against a plethora of opponents, each with their ow versions of the "light saber", reminding me so much of pugilistic / martial art fights were the protagonist is surrounded by kung-fu masters of different houses and clans, each wielding their own weapon of choice!

The SNL "Undercover Boss" / Kylo Ren parody (Go View the Video Here, no worries I'll be here waiting'…) sure is doing it rounds in the toy-circuit, what with DIY-"bootlegs" and upcoming toy releases … and a new piece has joined it's ranks! Introducing "Matt The Radar Technician"!

From Singapore-based Carlo Cacho AKA Wetworks, who has since sculpted an all-original headsculpt of the bespectacled and blonde Adam Driver, and kitted out in a full body with suit and harness!

Standing 6" tall, this figure is 1/12th scle and features ahand-sculpted head, with the body came from a 3A figure. Next step? "Blister Card" packaging!

“Kara” - An Unofficial Star Wars Fan-Film

KARA is a short fan film set in the Star Wars universe, written and directed by Joe Sill. Nice watch, uber-swell costumes and I believe her tears ~ Kudos all around!

George Lucas on Charlie Rose

"George Lucas has criticized the latest installment of “Star Wars,” the series he created, in an interview with Charlie Rose, describing the film as too “retro” for his taste and jokingly comparing the Walt Disney Company, which bought the rights to the franchise in 2012, to “white slavers” who had bought his children.

The hourlong interview, broadcast on Dec. 25 and released online this week, focused on Mr. Lucas’s legacy, which was celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors this month."
(Read more here in the video's captions)

Aaaah yes, the by-now infamous buzzwords surrounding Lucas' reaction(s) to "The Force Awakens", now "heard" in these videos, and not read and quoted on websites!

Listen to what he says, and decide for yourselves his words and intentions. Featured below are specific excerpts, including "the break up" and George Lucas explains how "Star Wars" changed the movie industry; for both good and evil...

""It's a very very very hard thing to do." George Lucas explains why he had to "break up" with Star Wars so that he and 'The Force Awakens' could both move on."

adidas Originals - Star Wars Cantina 2010

"Five minutes before kickoff…" - the hijinks in the Mos Eisley cantina include guest celebrities galore - including Daft Punk, David Beckham, Snoop Dogg, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, Jay Baruchel and DJ Neil Armstrong (among others), alongside Star Wars veterans Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3P0 and Obi-Wan Kenobi!

This television commercial for adidas edited with "Star Wars 4: A New Hope" scenes made it's debut circa the 2010 World Cup, and seems perfectly apt for a revisit now, with the advent of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", don't you think?

Oh gosh but do I heart Pop Culture Mash-Ups!

Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base with by Kylo Ren

Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base

What do people say about Kylo Ren around Starkiller Base? He went on Undercover Boss and found out.

Posted by Saturday Night Live on Sunday, January 17, 2016

WHAT-IS: "Undercover Boss" is a television-based reality show whereby the bosses literally go undercover (in a disguise) to start work in their own companies and branches, to find out what and how the folks at ground level work, think and feels. The bosses then revert back to their identity, to face/confront the selected employees they had worked for with, while undercover

There are multiple versions in different countries, with mainly USA-based bosses constantly doling out insane amounts of $$$

Saturday Night Live does their version themed after "Star Wars: Tehe Force Awakens"! "What do people say about Kylo Ren around Starkiller Base? He went on Undercover Boss and found out."

Best I've seen all week!

BONUS: Behind-The-Scenes!

Bonus footage from last week’s Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base with Adam Driver.

Star Wars Characters by Clogtwo

Guess Which Star Wars: The Force Awakens Character I Pulled for my 3D Pencil Topper?

So I've been fighting a taste for chocolate for nearly a week now … and today coming back from my morning monthly visit to the local polyclinic (going back again later in the afternoon as the system was down and the queue was ridiculous), I gave in and walked into my neighborhood convenience store to hunt for the treat, until I found a (possible) solution to both my choco-desires, and urge to buy toys! And also, better alternative to "chips" too, no?

"FREE" 3D Pencil Toppers from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with 4 designs to be had randomly: First Order Storm Trooper, BB-8 (both of whom I'd be perfectly happy with getting), Chewbacca (love you, Chewie, but…) and C3PO (never did seem to have much love for him, alas… :p).

"Fun" that you could cut out the back of the box to do a dioramic setting too tho - nice job "Nestle" :)

Scroll down to see the character I managed to pull … and that made a Happy Friday (so far) for me … I am a simple man with simple needs hahahaha

I'll be happy with a First Order Storm Trooper or BB8, fhanks! :) #henglife

Crouching Tiger, Swinging Lightsabers

"What happens when the world of ancient east and a galaxy far, far away combine? The best of things: An intense lightsaber battle. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon meets the Star Wars universe in this short but sweet video." (Chris Francis, who used AfterEffects to make this)

"Martial Arts" instead of Kendo, huh? Works for me! I'd watch the hell out of this! And while I sincerely doubt if there'll be "lightsabres" in the next installment of Crouching Tiger (hurhur), this was "fun"!

"May You Prosper with The Force" CNY Imagery by Nicholas Quah

From Malaysia-based artist/designer Nicholas Quah comes two suitably geeked-out coolness that features Chinese New Year (CNY) lion-dance/lion-head imagery, infused with the glory of Star Wars Storm troopers!

"May you prosper with the Force" are digital graphics that were done in fun and to exercise his creativity, but I reckon they NEED to be made real CNY greeting cards, or even "angpows" (*Red Packets)!

Go check out his other works via www.move-the-mind.com and Nicholas' Facebook-page (Images via / used with kind permission).
