SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY - Teaser Trailer & Character Posters
A 45-seconds teaser spot (above) was aired during the Super Bowl Sunday, leading to the full minute+43seconds teaser launched the next day (below) for the latest solo-film incarnation of "A Star Wars Story" (the first one being "Rogue One") - with "SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY" focusing on the aaaa "Han Solo" in his younger days - the starting sequence of him in a land-speeder surely reminds us he is a "cliched wanker Americana car-jockey", innit?
"Solo: A Star Wars Story, or simply Solo, is an upcoming American space Western film centered on Han Solo, a character from the Star Wars franchise, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and Ron Howard. The film is being produced by Lucasfilm from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film will be the second Star Wars anthology film, following the 2016 film Rogue One. A stand-alone installment, set prior to the events of the original 1977 film, it explores the adventures of a young Han Solo and Chewbacca, including meeting Lando Calrissian. The film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Solo, alongside Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, and Paul Bettany." (Wiki)
There is some "history" behind the making of the film (if you'd not read about it by now), with essentially previous directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller leaving the project (or "fired", or "quit"), and director Ron Howard coming on to take over the filming, to which inevitably there would be long unwinding discussions of "who shot what" - which reminds me of the conundrum of Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon for "Justice League" (Y'all see the Hollywood pattern by now, don't you?) and whatever "frankenstein"-movie it might or might not be ... Hopefully all these burdens do not hamper a film as much?
"Solo: A Star Wars Story" in U.S. theaters May 25th, 2018.
Also featured here are a quartet of character posters released in conjunction with the teaser trailer too (via starwars.com), which I am liking way more than the teasers, although they feel like from two different movies, IMHO :p
