“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” Has Been Announced to be the title of #StarWars Ep.8
"Having taken her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga." (IMDb)
And the title for Star Wars Episode 8 has been revealed to be: “The Last Jedi”! And yes, there will be an opening crawl! (As seen on the film director Rian Johnson’s Instagram).
SPOILERS AHEAD! The last scene in The Force Awakens AKA “Star Wars Episode 7”, Rey had gotten unto an island and discovered “Luke Skywalker”, and promptly passes him his lightsaber … will he choose to take it this the next movie? Will he have to eventually die, to leave Rey to be the “Last Jedi”? (Cue *training sequence*, like those *wabrode change sequences* in rom-coms LOL) … or as the internets are wont to state, the plural of “Jedi” is “Jedi”?
I remember “The Return of the Jedi” referred to Luke’s journey … so does “The Last Journey” continue with Luke’s? And ENDS?
If this was a George Lucas project, I’d give a hearty “YES” (as he’s oft stated Star Wars was a “soap opera in space”) … but now under Disney? We’ll just have to wait and see, won;t we?
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi“ premieres 15th December 2017 in the USA.
